Sharon A. Moore, age 58, of Key West, FL (formerly of Cape May Court House) lost her courageous battle with cancer Thursday, July 23, 2015. She parted peacefully with her husband by her side. Sharon was born in Cape May Court House, NJ July 5, 1957. She graduated from Lower Cape May Regional High School and then graduated Suma cum laude with her Accounting Degree from Oklahoma City University. Sharon worked briefly in Cape May Court House at Tracey and Heun, CPA's where she met Billy Moore and moved to his Key West home in 1981. Her first job in Key West was driving a lobster boat and building traps with Billy. Sharon began her illustrious accounting career in January 1982 at the CPA firm of Parks, Hutchings, & Niles and worked at the same office location for more than 33 years; opening her own firm Sharon A Moore, CPA in 2010. Sharon was passionate about accounting and proud of her community leadership. The Chamber of Commerce recognized that leadership by honoring her with the prestigious Athena Award and induction into the Chamber's Hall of Fame. Sharon was a Chamber member since 1982, a Director since 1993, and President in 1998. She chaired the Finance, Member Services, Leadership Conference committees and most recently Education committee. Sharon was dedicated to her profession being a past president of the Florida Keys Chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Her infectious laugh and positive outlook on life boosted the spirits of anyone lucky enough to be in her company. She loved working, golf, knitting, gardening, shell collecting, and the beach. Sharon will be remembered for her Fantasy Fest costumes, handmade Christmas Ornaments and cooking. She is survived by her loving husband Billy; brothers: Wayne (Brenda), Garry (Carol) and Robbie Shaw; stepson Rob Moore (Jenny Lynn); grandchildren: Gabby, Fidi, & Billy; sister-in-law Linda; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her furry children Maddy & Tillie. She was predeceased by her parents Ray Sr. and Mae Shaw, nah her brother Ray, Jr. Dates for a celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the Bellevue Tavern, Route 9, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
