Obituary of Roy Litton

Roy Litton, Sr. age 78, of Erma passed away peacefully Friday, June 19, 2015 at his home. Roy was born in Philadelphia, but has been a Cape May area resident since 1948. He is the son of the late James and Eva (Barnes) Litton. He was the owner/mechanic at Sunset Texaco and Morgan's Texaco, and was former owner of the Lower Bus Company. Roy also worked as a Commercial Clammer, was the former owner of Murphy Fence Company & Seashore Sheds. He enjoyed all of his entrepreneurial endeavors and had an extreme work ethic which he passed on to his children. Roy was a member of the Seashore Community Church of the Nazarene where he was an usher. He was active in Erma Fire Company, enjoyed hunting, fishing, Nascar Racing, and was an avid Philadelphia Sports fan. Roy touched the lives and hearts of many people. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Roy loved his extended family as much as his own. He would help anyone in need with nothing ever expected in return. Roy loved spending his winters in Kissimmee, FL with his friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Barbara (nee Jones); his children: Sherri (Tom) McNulty, Roy, Jr., Maureen (Joseph) Mastalski, Ryan (Amy) Litton, and Michelle Litton. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren: Laura (Jacob), Tommy (Mandy), Lyndsay (John), Christopher (Cortney), Joseph (Sarah), Holly (Richard), Matthew (Carolann), Jenifer (Andrew), Madison, & Tomasz; along with 13 Great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters Emily Knecht and Margaret McMenamin. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the Seashore Community Church of the Nazarene, 446 Seashore Rd, Erma, NJ; where friends will be received from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Tabernacle Cemetery, 702 Seashore Rd, Erma. The family suggests donations in Roy's memory to the Seashore Community Church's youth ministry or Compassionate Ministry.
