Obituary of Anthony Joseph D'Amelio

Anthony J D'Amelio, age 83, of North Cape May passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 21, 2010. Born in Camden, NJ and formerly of Collingswood, NJ; he has been a Cape May area resident for 26 years. Anthony served his country in the US Army during World War II and worked for RCA in Camden & Deptford for 42 years. He was a member the Knights of Columbus Council 6202 of Cape May and the VFW Post 386 of Cape May. Anthony is survived by: his daughters Marion Bangert of North Cape May and Beverly Spencer of Laplata, MO; and his sisters Mary Martella of Bellmawr, NJ and Teresa Marchionne of Audubon, NJ. Also surviving are: his niece Carolyn Marziani of Bellmawr, NJ; his grand children: Lara Wilson, Philip Bangert, Brenda Lowery, Julie Osborne, & Cheryl Curtis; 13 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Edna Davis D'Amelio in 2004. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at Cape May County Veterans Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Anthony's memory to St John of God RC Church.
