Wayne V Call, age 85, of Villas passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017. Mr. Call was born December 28, 1931 in Canby, MN and raised in Madison, MN. He is the son of the late Harold W and the late Alice (Thompson) Call. Wayne has lived in the Cape May area since the early 1990's and previously lived in Elmer, NJ; Franklinville, NJ; and Hilleah, FL. He served in the Navy on the USS Missouri and USS Panhandle during the Korean War from 1950 to 1954. He was employed as an aircraft inspector by SJ Airlines of Erma, NJ. Wayne also worked as a barber and owned and operated his own shop in Minnesota in his early years. He later worked as a civilian for the US Army as a Tech Rep for Avco-Lycoming during the Vietnam War. They were connected to assault helicopters. Wayne was a member of the DAV Chapter 44 in Del Haven, and was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Call. Wayne is survived by his wife: Catherine (nee Russell) Call; one daughter Allison Hopkins of Villas, NJ; two sons: Gregory (Kathy) Call & Gary (Geri) Call; and his brother Larry Call. He also has eight grandchildren, Aja, Alex, Andrea, Matthew, Katie, Kirsten, Katelin and Kyle; and four great-grandchildren: James, Alexis, & Dallas (and their father Matthew Woods) and Josey DelosSantos. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 12:00 to 1:00 PM.
