John E McCaffery, 62, of Del Haven, NJ passed away on Monday, February 6, 2012 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia and formerly of that city, he has been a Cape May area resident for 25 years. He was a Vietnam veteran, was a past commander of the DAV of Del Haven, and a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3546 of Erma. John is survived by his wife of 25 years Regina (nee Potts) McCaffery, his 7 children, and 7 grandchildren. Also surviving are his mother Gertrude McCaffery, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 10, 2012 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St Raymond's RC Church, Ocean & Bayshore Rd, Villas, NJ 08251. Interment will follow at Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. The family suggests donations in John's memory to the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
